De bello regum Bohemie et Ungarie.
The War Between Bohemia and Hungary
In 1260, the king of Hungary invaded Bohemia with forty thousand horsemen, but the king of Bohemia met him with a vastly larger force; in the ensuing battle, the Hungarian king was gravely wounded and fled, with thousands of his men perishing in a river.
In the year of our Lord 1260, the king of Hungary attacked the king of Bohemia in war, having forty thousand horsemen of various nations. The king of Bohemia met him with a hundred thousand horsemen and seven thousand auxiliaries; and when they charged together at once, so great a cloud of dust rose up that in broad daylight a man could scarcely recognize another man. At last, with the king of Hungary having been seriously wounded, he fled with his men and, besides the slain, an uncertain number of thousands of men from Hungary were drowned in a certain river.
