De quodam miraculo.

The Virgin's Rebuke to the Count

The blessed Virgin appears in a vision to Count Wilhelm, captain of the Hungarians, rebuking him for destroying her land watered with Christian blood and warning him of swift death if he does not withdraw.

In this army was a certain count, Master Wilhelm, captain of the Hungarians, to whom the blessed Virgin appeared in a vision one night as he lay in bed, and she rebuked him sternly, saying: 'Why are you destroying my land, planted with the blood of many Christians?' If you do not withdraw, know that you will die a swift and miserable death.

Si non recesseris, scito, quod mala morte brevi morieris.
