Chapter 103ChrP.5.103

De vastacione terre Colmensis.

Lothar's Devastation of the Land of Kulm

King Lothar of Poland invaded the land of Kulm with a great host, besieging the city and laying waste by plunder and fire, but ultimately withdrew when provisions failed and truces intervened.

That same year, in the autumn, Lothar, king of Poland, marched into the land of Kulm with all the knights of his kingdom, many mercenaries, and five thousand men the king of Hungary had sent him from his own people as reinforcements. He besieged the city and launched several attacks, but then — with certain truces intervening — he ravaged the aforementioned land with plunder and fire. At last, with provisions running out and certain truces intervening, he withdrew.
