Vitus Ravages Samland and Natangia
In 1310, King Vitus of Lithuania devastated Samland and Natangia with fire and plunder, killing many and taking nearly five hundred captives, though his own forces suffered losses as well.
In the year of our Lord 1310, at the beginning of Lent, Vitus, king of Lithuania, with a very great army, laid waste to Samland and Natangia with fire and plunder, killed many people, and carried off nearly five hundred with great spoil. Yet it was not without losses of his own, for many of his own people who had strayed from the army were slain.12
