Bartians and Lethowinians Raid Poland
Bartians who had fled Pogesania join the Lethowinians and raid Poland, seizing many people and cattle.
Before the brothers attacked the aforementioned castle of Garth, certain Bartians who had recently fled from Pogesania joined forces with the Lethowinians, and with their army assembled they advanced into Poland, where, besides the other evils they committed, they carried off a great booty of people and cattle.
Bartians Receive Favor and Theoderic Objects
Two Bartians secure reconciliation and restoration of their families, provoking Theoderic's displeasure over future dangers.
But two Bartians, namely Numo and Dersko, after such plundering had been carried out in the territory of Garth, followed the army, and at their request all the Bartians found favor with the brothers, and their wives and children were restored to them. This, however, displeased Brother Theoderic, the advocate of Sambia, and many other brothers, when it came to their attention, on account of the future dangers they feared would come through them — just as the outcome of the matter afterward proved.1
Bartians Report to the Lethowinians
Numo and Dersko inform the Lethowinian army about events at Garth and their settlement in Pogesania.
The said Numo and Dersko, therefore, having obtained the brothers' favor, met with the aforementioned army of the Lethowinians, and after they had informed their fellow countrymen of what had been done concerning the castle and territory of Garth, and how they had gone into Pogesania and were dwelling there, just as before.2

Antequam fratres impugnarent castrum Gartham predictum, quidam Barthenses, qui ultimo de Pogesania fugerant, cum Lethowinis congregato exercitu processerunt contra Poloniam, ubi preter alia mala, que fecerunt, magnam predam in hominibus ct pecudibus deduxerunt. Sed duo Barthenses scilicet Numo et Dersko post hujusmodi depredacionem factam in territorio Garthe secuti fuerunt exercitum, et ad peticionem ipsorum omnes Barthenses fratrum graciam invenerunt et uxores ipsoruma, et liberi sunt eis restituti, quod tarnen fratri Theodorico advocato Sambie et multis aliis fratribus displicuit, dum ad ipsorum 11 noticiam devenit, propter futura pericula, que per eos timebant incurrere, sicut rei eventus postea comprobavit.
