The Fall of Wartenberg Castle
The Sudovites relentlessly persecuted Christians and ultimately destroyed Wartenberg castle, killing two brothers and the entire household, leaving the fortress abandoned to this day.
As often as they shed Christian blood, and however much of it they shed, they still did not cease from their persecution. They strove with all their strength to destroy them utterly, down to the very last person. And so the Sudovites, having gathered an even larger army, came to Wartenberg Castle. After many fierce assaults — with the brothers resisting as best they could — they at last burned it to the ground and utterly destroyed it, killing two brothers along with the entire household. And that castle remains abandoned to this very day.

Quocienscunque et quantumcunque gentes iste de cristiano sanguine funderent, non tarnen a persecucione cessabant. Nitebantur enim totis viribus, ut eos usque ad internecionem delerent. Ende Sudowite congregato iterum exercitu majori venerunt ad castrum Wartenbergk, et post multas impugnaciones et duras, fratribus eis pro sua possibilitate resistentibus, tandem ipsum cremando funditus destruxerunt, duos fratres cum tota familia occidentes, et sic dictum castrum usque in presens remanet desolatum.
