De morte quorundam Pruthenorum.
The Boldness of Balga and the Death of Pobrawo
The brothers of Balga proved so bold that no enemy escaped them unscathed, and when Pobrawo raided their livestock, Brother Gerhardus and his men pursued, killed Pobrawo and six of his companions, and recovered the plunder.
From the very founding of the castle at Balga, the brothers and men-at-arms were so bold and courageous that scarcely any enemy force could withdraw from them without suffering losses. As a result, it happened that when Pobrawo, joined by the Natangians and Warmians with a gathered army, was advancing at night with many foot soldiers toward the field near Balga, and he himself was following at dawn with cavalry, he seized the brothers' livestock after killing the three men who were guarding them. But Brother Gerhardus de Beno and several other brothers with their men-at-arms pursued them, killed the said Pobrawo and six of his men, and wrested the plunder from their hands.12
