Eternal Son of God, O faithful Savior of all who call on you in faith: we, your little children—baptized into your blood, consecrated by your Spirit as little royal priests, and by grace chosen as your brothers and co-heirs—cry out to you with our innocent little tongues and ask from the heart that you would graciously keep our dear father, who has gone traveling over land for the sake of his work and livelihood, safe on his ways, and let him finish his business well and quickly; and bring him back to us healthy and with joy—you who also kept and accompanied your servant Jacob with your little angels on his journey, you eternal and faithful escort and companion of all who fear you and wait on your goodness. Ewiger Sohn Gottes, o treuer Heiland aller, die dich im Glauben anrufen, wir deine Kindlein, die auf dein Blut getauft und mit deinem Geist zu königlichen Priesterlein geweihet und deine Brüder und Miterben aus Gnaden erwählet sind, schreien mit unsern unschuldigen Züngelein zu dir, bitten herzlich, du wollest unsern lieben Vater, der seines Berufs und Nahrung halber über Land gereist, auf seinen Wegen gnädig behüten und ihn seine Sachen wohl und schleunig ausrichten lassen; und ihn gesund und mit Freuden wieder zu uns bringen, der du deinen Diener Jakob auch mit deinen Engelein auf seiner Reise behütet und begleitet hast, du ewiger und treuer Geleitsmann und Gefährte aller derer, die dich fürchten und auf deine Güte warten.
