Ah, my sweet Lord Jesus! Enlighten me today and always, so that I may set the course of my Christian life toward the heavenly Jerusalem, where I am to be forever; and that just as you have all desire and thirst for me, I also may have all my desire and thirst for you, seek you early, long for you, and keep you, the Bread of Life, as my companion on the way. Guard me, O unchanging eternal God, from the inconstancy of the world's children, so that I do not make myself like them in hypocrisy, but today also remain steadfast in godliness in my calling, and my life always decrease in vices and increase in virtues, so that I may serve you, my Lord, faithfully, hold earthly things of little account, be lifted up in you, experience your grace and protection, and thank you for it forever, for the sake of Jesus Christ.12 Amen.

Ach, mein süßer Herr Jesu! Erleuchte mich heute und allezeit, dass ich den Lauf meines Christentums nach dem himmlischen Jerusalem, da ich ewig sein soll, richte, und wie du nach mir, ich auch nach dir alle meine Lust und Durst habe, frühe dich suche, deiner verlange, und dich, das Brot des Lebens, zum Gefährten auf meinem Wege behalte. Behüte mich, o unwandelbarer ewiger Gott, vor der Weltkinder Unbeständigkeit, dass ich mich nicht ihnen in Heuchelei gleich stelle, sondern auch heute bei meinem Beruf beständig bleibe in der Gottseligkeit und mein Leben an Lastern ab-, in Tugenden aber zunehme allezeit, damit ich dir, meinem Herrn, treulich diene, das Irdische gering achte, in dir erhöhet, deine Gnade und Schutz empfinden, und es dir ewig danken möge, um Jesu Christi willen. Amen.
