The Promise of His Return
The Scriptures testify that Christ will return in glory just as He ascended into heaven.
What does Holy Scripture say about Christ's future coming? Holy Scripture says the following about Christ's future coming: «This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him going up into heaven» (Acts (Acts 1:11). The angels said this to the apostles at the Lord's Ascension.
The Judgment of All
Christ will return to judge every person, revealing all hidden thoughts and deeds, necessitating repentance and watchfulness.
How does Holy Scripture describe Christ's future judgment? Holy Scripture speaks of His future judgment this way: "The hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who have done good will come forth to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation" (Jn.✦ 5:28–29). These are the words of Christ the Savior Himself. How does Holy Scripture describe the eternal kingdom of Christ? Holy Scripture describes the eternal kingdom of Christ this way: “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of David His father; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end” (Lk. 1:32–33). These are the words the Angel spoke to the Mother of God. Will Christ's second coming be different in any way? Christ's future coming will differ greatly from the former one. He came in humility to suffer for us, but he will come to judge us "in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him" (Mt. 25:31). Will He judge everyone? He will judge everyone without exception. How will He judge us? Everyone's conscience will be opened before all, and not only will every deed done throughout their life on earth be revealed, but also every word spoken, every secret desire, and every thought. "The Lord will come, who will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will disclose the intentions of the heart; and then each one will receive praise from God" (1 Cor.✦ 4:5). Will all our words and thoughts be subject to judgment? He will undoubtedly condemn us for evil words and thoughts if we don't wipe them away through repentance, faith, and a change of life. "But I tell you that for every idle word people speak, they will give an account on the day of judgment" (Mt. 12:36).
Signs of the End
While the timing of the Lord's return remains unknown, the Scriptures provide signs of its approach, including the rise of the Antichrist.
When will this judgment happen? We don't know when the Lord Jesus Christ will come to judge us, so we must live in a way that keeps us always ready. "The Lord isn't slow in fulfilling his promise, as some people think of delay; rather, he is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but wanting everyone to come to repentance."✦ "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night" (2 Pet. 3:9, 10).✦1 "Watch, for you don't know the day or the hour in which the Son of Man will come" (Matt. 25:13). Are there signs of Christ's coming? In the Word of God some signs of the approach of Christ's coming are revealed, namely: the decline of faith and love among people, the increase of vices and calamities, the preaching of the Gospel to all nations, and the coming of the Antichrist (see Matthew chapter 24). Who is the Antichrist? The Antichrist is the adversary of Christ who will try to wipe out Christianity, but instead will himself perish in a terrible way (see✦ (See 2 Thess. 2:8.)
The Eternal Kingdom
Christ's kingdom encompasses all creation, but it is the kingdom of glory that shall have no end.
What is the kingdom of Christ? The kingdom of Christ is the whole world, all believers on earth, and all the blessed in heaven. The first is called the kingdom of nature, the second the kingdom of grace, and the third the kingdom of glory. Which kingdom will have no end? The Creed's statement that Christ's kingdom will have no end refers to the kingdom of glory.

Всех ли людей Он будет судить? Он будет судить всех людей без исключения.
Как Он будет нас судить? Совесть каждого человека откроется перед всеми и обнаружатся не только все дела, какие кто сделал в продолжение всей своей жизни на земле, но и все сказанные слова, тайные желания и помышления. «Придет Господь, Который и осветит скрытое во мраке и обнаружит сердечные намерения, и тогда каждому будет похвала от Бога» (1Кор. 4:5).
Все ли наши слова и мысли будут подвергнуты суду? Он, без сомнения, осудит нас за худые слова и мысли, если не изгладим их покаянием, верой и исправлением жизни. «Говорю же вам, что за всякое праздное слово, какое скажут люди, дадут они ответ в день суда» (Мф. 12:36).
Когда будет этот суд? Когда Господь Иисус Христос придет нас судить неизвестно, поэтому надо жить так, чтобы мы всегда были к этому готовы. «Не медлит Господь исполнением обетования, как некоторые почитают то медлением; но долготерпит нас, не желая, чтобы кто погиб, но чтобы все пришли к покаянию. Придет же день Господень, как тать ночью» (2Пет 3:9, 10). «Бодрствуйте; потому что не знаете ни дня, ни часа, в который придет Сын человеческий»(Мф. 25:13).
Есть ли признаки пришествия Христа? В слове Божием открыты некоторые признаки приближения пришествия Христа, а именно: уменьшение веры и любви между людьми, умножение пороков и бедствий, проповедание Евангелия всем народам, пришествие антихриста (см. Мф. гл. 24).
Кто такой антихрист? Антихрист – это противник Христу, который будет стараться истребить христианство, но вместо этого сам погибнет ужасным образом (см. 2Фес 2:8).
Что такое царство Христа? Царство Христа это: весь мир; все верующие на земле; все блаженные на небесах. Первое называют царством природы, второе царством благодати, а третье царством славы.
Какому из царств не будет конца? Слова Символа о том, что царству Христа не будет конца, относятся к царству славы.
