The Ascension of the Lord
The Creed's teaching on the Ascension is grounded in the witness of Holy Scripture.
Where does the Creed's teaching about the Lord's Ascension come from? The teaching about the Lord's Ascension is taken from these words of Holy Scripture: "He who descended is the same one who also ascended far above all the heavens, so that he might fill all things" (Eph. 4:10). 4:10). "We have such a High Priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens" (Heb. 8:1). 8:1).
Humanity and Divinity in the Ascension
Christ ascended into heaven in His humanity, while remaining present in heaven by His divinity.
Did Jesus Christ ascend into heaven by His divinity or by His humanity? Jesus Christ ascended into heaven by His humanity, while by His divinity He has always been, and still is, in heaven.
Sitting at the Right Hand of the Father
