Faith and Protection
The hymn invokes the faith of the three youths in the furnace and petitions the Guardian Angel for protection and guidance.
The young men who came from Judea once trampled down the furnace flame in Babylon by faith in the Trinity, singing: O God of our fathers, blessed are You. Be merciful to me, and entreat God for me, Angel of the Lord, for I have you as my protector throughout all my life, and as my guide and guardian, given to me by God forever. O holy Angel, do not abandon my wretched soul as she journeys on her way, leaving her to be slain by robbers—she who was entrusted to you by God without stain; instead, guide her onto the path of repentance.✦
Guidance and Doxology
The prayer concludes with a Trinitarian doxology, a plea for the healing of thoughts, and a final petition for wisdom through the intercession of the Theotokos.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. I bring my soul, completely shamed by evil thoughts and deeds; but go before me, my guide, and grant me the healing of good thoughts, so that I may always turn toward the right paths.12 Now and always, and forever and ever. Amen. Fill with wisdom and divine strength all who cry out in faith, O Hypostatic Wisdom of the Most High, for the sake of the Mother of God: O God of our fathers, blessed are You.3

- 3 ↩Ипоста́сная Прему́дросте is rendered as the technical Christological title Hypostatic Wisdom (the personal Wisdom of the Most High), not as impersonal wisdom.
