The Shepherd's Voluntary Descent
The Creator enters the world as a human Shepherd to draw humanity back to Himself.
Desiring to save the world, the One who orders all things came to it of his own free will. And being the Shepherd as God, for our sake he appeared as a human like us; for by calling like to like, as God he hears: Alleluia.1

Notes
τὸ ὅμοιον καλέσας is the classic incarnational ‘like by like’ principle: by taking our likeness he summons humanity. Rendered as ‘by calling like to like’ rather than a freer paraphrase.

Never lose the rhythm again
Chosen Portion delivers your morning, midday and night office to your phone — the Hours, without the bells.
Chosen Portion is a modern Book of Hours: it turns the fixed-hour structure this collection preserves into scheduled, tappable daily prayer on your phone.
- Three daily prayer moments scheduled around your real calendar, not a monastery's
- Psalms and historic prayers sequenced for you — no page-flipping or decision fatigue
- A visible streak of completed offices, so the rhythm compounds instead of collapsing
