A Prayer for the King's Prosperity
A petition for the King's longevity, wisdom, and divine protection.
O Lord, grant the King a long life, that his years may endure as many ages. Provide him with wise and safe counsel, and give him a heart of courage and constancy to pursue them. O prepare your loving mercy and faithfulness for him, that they may preserve him; so I will always sing praises to your Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Plea for Divine Succor and Favor
A call for God to defend the King in times of trouble and grant him spiritual guidance.
O Lord, hear the King in the day of his trouble, so that your Name, O God of Jacob, may defend him. Send him help from your Sanctuary, and strength out of Zion. Grant him his heart's desire, and fulfill all his mind. Set his heart firm upon you, and upon other things, but as they are in and from you: that we, his servants under you, may see with joy that you help your Anointed, and that you will hear him from your holy Heaven, even with the wholesome strength of your right hand. And, O Lord, do not close my eyes until I see your favor shine upon him, for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen.
