O Lord God, who once drowned the entire world because of humanity's sin, sparing only eight people, and afterward promised in your great mercy never to destroy it again: We humbly ask you, even though we have justly deserved a plague of rain and floods for our sins, that upon our true repentance you will grant us such weather that we may receive the fruits of the earth in their proper season; and that we may learn through your punishment to amend our lives and, by your mercy, give you praise and glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
