Dear daughter, listen gladly to the service of holy Church; and when you are in church, take care that you don't daydream or speak empty words. Say your prayers in peace with your mouth and in your mind, especially when the Body of Jesus Christ is present at Mass; and for some time beforehand, be more at peace and more attentive to prayer.

Chiere fille, oiez volentiers le servise de sainte église; et quant vous serez en leglise, gardez que vous ne musiez pas et que vos ne diez vaines paroles. Dites vos oroisons en pès par bouche et par pensée, et especiaument quant li cors Jhesu-Criz sera presenz a la messe; et par espace de tens avant, soiez plus en pès et plus entendible a oroison.
