Chapter 38SymH.1.38

XXXVIII. O beatissime Ruperte (De sancto Ruperto)

The Blessed Rupert's Purity and Renunciation

The antiphon celebrates Rupert's youth free from vice and the world's corruption, and his complete renunciation of the world.

Antiphon: O most blessed Rupert, who in the flower of your youth produced no vices and carried none of the devil's corruption. So you left behind a shipwrecked world.

Intercession and Alleluia

The faithful ask Rupert to intercede for them, and the antiphon closes with the acclamation Alleluia.

Now intercede for those who serve you in God. Alleluia.

Read the original Latin

Antiphona: O beatissime Ruperte, qui in flore etatis tue non produxisti nec portasti vicia diaboli. Unde naufragum mundum reliquisti. Nunc intercede pro famulantibus tibi in deo. Alleluia.
