My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, because he has looked upon his servant's lowliness. From now on, all generations will call me blessed, because the Mighty One has done mighty things for me, and his name is holy. His mercy endures from generation to generation for those who fear him. He has shown strength with his arm and scattered those who are proud in the thoughts of their hearts. He has brought the powerful down from their thrones and lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty. He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercy, just as he promised our fathers, Abraham and his descendants forever. Glory be to the Father. And so on.
