Psalm 23
The Sovereign Creator
The earth and all its fullness belong to the Lord, who established it by his power.
The earth and all its abundance belong to the Lord—the beautiful world and all the people scattered throughout it. He set the earth firmly upon the waters by his mighty hand.
The Way of the Righteous
Only those with pure hearts and clean hands may ascend to God's holy place.
Who will climb the beautiful mountain of God? Who will remain standing in his holy place?1 The one whose hands are innocent here, whose heart is pure, and whose reckless soul does not pursue vanity.2 Anyone who hasn't sworn a false oath to a neighbor will always receive the blessing God gives. And he will receive great mercy and honor from the Lord, his salvation. This is a generation worthy of the deepest love, a holy and truly good people who seek the clear and radiant face of God day and night. This is clearly the God of Jacob, our only Lord.
The King of Glory Enters
The gates are called to open for the triumphant King of glory, who has conquered hell and reigns with power.
Open your gates quickly, you princes; rise up, you doors that have been closed from eternity, and our King of glory will enter through them unhindered. He displays his favor and reveals it to us. Who is this King of glory? The Lord is strong and immensely powerful. He is mighty and victorious, renowned in battle. He has overcome hell and brought it crashing down. Open your gates quickly, you princes; rise up, you doors that have been closed for ages, and our King of glory will enter there unhindered—the one who proclaims his favor and reveals it to us. Who is this King of glory?✦ A mighty Lord of surpassing power, whose name is remembered forever—a true King from whom great honor comes and virtue springs.✦

Never lose the rhythm again
Chosen Portion delivers your morning, midday and night office to your phone — the Hours, without the bells.
Chosen Portion is a modern Book of Hours: it turns the fixed-hour structure this collection preserves into scheduled, tappable daily prayer on your phone.
- Three daily prayer moments scheduled around your real calendar, not a monastery's
- Psalms and historic prayers sequenced for you — no page-flipping or decision fatigue
- A visible streak of completed offices, so the rhythm compounds instead of collapsing
