The Threefold Path to Appease God
The Mother of God reveals that a plague has fallen upon the kingdom due to sin, but God's wrath can be turned away through three specific remedies.
The Mother of God spoke to the bride, saying: "A plague has come upon the kingdom because of three sins—pride, incontinence, and greed—and for this reason, God can be appeased by three things, so that the time of the plague may be shortened."
The Virtue of Modesty
The faithful are called to abandon vanity in dress and bodily display, replacing pride with true humility.
The first thing is that everyone should adopt true humility in their clothing by wearing modest garments—not excessively long in the manner of women, nor excessively tight in the manner of buffoons, nor with expensive, vain, and useless cuts or slits in their clothes, because such things are displeasing to God. They should also carry their bodies with such honesty that they don't appear more prominent than God created them for the sake of showing off, nor shorter or thinner through any bindings, knots, or similar tricks, but everything should be for the usefulness and honor of God. Women should also set aside the clothes of ostentation that they've taken up out of pride and empty glory, because the devil has dictated to those women who despise the ancient customs of their homeland a new kind of perversion—indecent ornaments for their heads, feet, and other parts of the body, all meant to provoke lust and irritate God.
Acts of Charity and Liturgical Devotion
The final remedies involve the giving of alms, the celebration of the Mass of the Holy Trinity, and humble acts of communal penance and service.
The second thing is that alms should be given with a cheerful heart. The third is that every parish priest should celebrate a Mass of the Holy Trinity once a month for an entire year. The whole population should gather for this, having made their confession and feeling true contrition; they should fast that day, praying and pleading with intense focus, so that their sins may be forgiven and the anger of God may be calmed. Bishops, too, should likewise hold solemn processions in their cathedral churches each month, either in person or through others, celebrating a Mass of the Holy Trinity, and they should gather the poor and humbly wash their feet.
