The Sacred Relics of the Incarnation
Mary explains her preservation of the holy relic of Christ's circumcision and the blood from his wounds, which she entrusted to Saint John.
Mary says: "When my Son was circumcised, I kept that membrane in the greatest honor wherever I went." For how could I have given that to the earth, which had been brought forth from me without sin? When the time for me to be called from this world drew near, I entrusted it to Saint John, my guardian, along with that blessed blood which remained in his wounds when we took him down from the cross.
A Hidden Treasure in Rome
The history of the relics' concealment and a lament over Rome's failure to honor the sacred treasure in its possession.
After Saint John and his successors had passed from the world, and as malice and treachery grew, the faithful living at that time hid these things in a clean place underground. They remained unknown for a long time, until an angel of God revealed them to the friends of God. O Rome, O Rome, if you only knew, you would certainly rejoice; in fact, if you knew how to weep, you would weep constantly, because you possess a treasure most dear to me, and you don't honor it.

Maria ait: "Cum filius meus circumcideretur, ego membranam illam in maximo honore seruabam, vbi ibam.
