God describes the spiritual birth of a sinner, brought about through the persistent prayers and tears of the faithful.
Look at this son of tears, who has just been born spiritually out of the world! He is the same one who was first born of his mother into the world in the flesh. Just as a woman who delivers a child from its mother's womb brings out the head first, then the hands, and then the whole body until it falls to the earth, so have I done for him because of the tears and prayers of my friends. I have truly drawn him out of the world to such a degree that, spiritually speaking, he is now like a newborn child. Therefore, he must be nurtured both spiritually and physically.
Nurturing the Newborn Soul
The newly born soul requires ongoing spiritual guidance, prayer, and physical care from those appointed by God.
For the one to whom I sent you must nurture him with his prayers, and guard him with good works and counsel. That woman, however, whom I spoke to you about, will pray for him and watch over him spiritually, while also making sure he has what he needs physically, because she herself fell so deeply into mortal sin that all the demons in hell said of him:
Delivered from the Enemy
Despite the intense malice and threats of the demons, the soul is fully liberated and now loves God above all things.
Let's open our mouths in case he comes, so we can crush him with our teeth and swallow him. Let's also reach out our hands to tear him apart by ripping him to pieces. And let's have our feet ready to trample and kick him.
