Thanksgiving for All Things
A prayer of thanksgiving for all benefits received and for the hope of future goods.
For this: that I live, and that I am endowed with reason; for my upbringing, preservation, and guidance; for my formation, direction, and religion; for the gifts of grace, of nature, and of fortune; for redemption, regeneration, and being taught the faith; for my calling, redoubled again and again, and often; for patience, long-suffering, and exceeding forbearance through many seasons, many years, even until now; for all the benefits I have received, and for the good things that have happily come my way; for whatever good I have done; for the use of present things, for Your promise, and for my hope12 for the enjoyment of the good things to come;✦

Scripture echoes
- ↩Heb.9.11 — But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come, through the greater and more perfect tent—not made with hands, that is, not of this creation—
Notes
- 1 ↩Normalized several corrupt OCR forms to the intended classical/early-modern Latin: praeditus (preeditus), Gratiae (Gratice), Naturae (Naturze), Fortunae (Fortunz), saepius (ssepius), adhuc (adhue), beneficiis (beneficis), quae (qu:e / quie), praesentium (presentium), praelonganimitate (prelonganimitate). Stray numerals (3, 4) treated as print/OCR artifacts and not rendered.
- 2 ↩Opening bare 'sim,' looks like a stray fragment or run-on from the previous prayer address; sense is taken from the following Pro-clauses as a thanksgiving catalogue. 'Religione' rendered as religion (faith/piety formation) in parallel with institutione and regimine rather than as monastic 'religious life'.
