by the confirmation of those things in Truth itself1 who are from you and by grace.2

Petitions for the sick, the needy, the perplexed, and for modesty and calm in all.
For help and courage for those who are unwell.3 For consolation of the body.4 of individuals, and those in need.5 of the individual women, the perplexed6 For modesty—that is, for a calm mind, moderation, a vigorous body in every man and woman, and clear counsel.7
Intercessions for the Church and the Realm
Prayers for the Catholic, Eastern, Western, and British Churches, for clergy and laity, for all states and authorities, especially the King and court.
For the Catholic Church, that it may grow.8 For the Eastern Church, that it may be united.9 For the Western Church, that it may act in peace.10 For the British Church, that its defects may be supplied in her.11 And the rest: for the episcopate, the priesthood, and the Christian people.12 For nations throughout the world; for Christians and for those who are far away; for our neighbors; and for this realm of ours.13 For those in authority: for our King, dear to God, for the Queen and the Prince, for the courtiers, the Council, the judiciary, the military, and the bodyguard.✦14

- ↩1Tim.2.1-1Tim.2.2 — I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. 1Tim.2.2 — for kings and all who hold high office, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and dignity." "Hold high office" is clearer than "are in high positions," and "so that" strengthens the purpose clause.
Notes
- 1 ↩Source reading 'ipei' is not Latin; translated as intended 'ipsi'/'ipsa' ('itself'), yielding ablative sense 'by/in Truth itself'. The fragment may also depend on the following relative clause in PrecesPriv.1.39.2.
- 2 ↩Source is a bare relative clause with ampersand for et; read as qui abs te et gratia sunt. abs te taken as source/origin ('from you'), Gratia as ablative of means/instrument ('by grace'), not as a second nominative predicate.
- 3 ↩Normalized Latin is punctuated as 'Pro auxilio, et : animo ] quibus male est.' Editorial marks (colon, bracket) look corrupt; rendered as the prayer petition 'Pro auxilio et animo quibus male est' — pro + ablatives, with quibus male est as those who are ill / for whom things go badly.
- 4 ↩Fragment 'consolatione, | corpore' with pipe mark; treated as ablative continuation of the pro-petition (for consolation, for/of the body), likely parallel to the preceding intercession.
- 5 ↩Source reads 'singulorum et in egestate qui 1 ᾿ sunt.' The tokens '1 ᾿' look like OCR/markup debris; translated as the intended 'qui sunt'.
- 6 ↩Source is a bare two-word fragment (singularum, perplexi) with no governing preposition or finite verb in this section. Neighboring sections suggest a petition-list or genitive series (singulorum / singularum). Rendered as a literal fragment pending fuller reconstruction.
- 7 ↩Reading the corrupt string as a petition list: Pro modestia, id [est] tranquillo animo, moderatione, vegeto corpore singulorum et singularum, [et] explicato consilio. Stripped pipe marks, trailing '5', and the stray 'j' as non-lexical artifacts.
- 8 ↩Source reads "ut olds adaugeatur"; "olds" is almost certainly corrupt OCR (likely a mangled Greek keyword such as αὔξησις, or the intended subject of the passive). Sense taken from the clear frame Pro Ecclesia Catholica + adaugeatur.
- 9 ↩"Orientali" continues the ecclesial list from s1 (Ecclesia understood). "1 HAGROEUT" is unreadable OCR, almost certainly mangled inline Greek (plausibly ἑνότης, "unity") labeling the petition whose Latin verb is adunetur.
- 10 ↩"Occidentali" again understands Ecclesia. "1 AG AE" is corrupt OCR of likely inline Greek (peace/order vocabulary) and is not rendered; Latin pacifice agat is clear.
- 11 ↩Source is fragmentary: "Brittanica, suppleantur defectus, ut : In ea." Taken as Pro Ecclesia Brittanica understood, with defectus as subject of suppleantur and In ea locating the defects in that church. The bare "ut :" looks truncated or noise; a fuller parallel elsewhere in the work asks that what is lacking in the church be supplied.
- 12 ↩Leading "bio reliqua, j" is corrupt; most plausible salvage is et reliqua ("and the rest") before the clear Pro-list. Presbyterio rendered as "the priesthood" (order of priests), not modern denominational "presbytery."
- 13 ↩"qu:e" read as quae. "Haec nostra" is elliptical (no noun); parallel petitions in the work use hanc nostram of this country/realm, so rendered "this realm of ours."
- 14 ↩"Deo caro nostro Rege" taken as apposition: our King, dear to God (royal epithet), not as a separate petition "for God." List ends mid-series with a trailing comma in the source.
