The Power of the Life-Giving Cross
A prayer invoking the victory of the Cross over demonic forces and seeking the intercession of the Mother of God and the saints.
Let God arise, and let his enemies be scattered; let those who hate him flee from his presence. As smoke vanishes, let them vanish; as wax melts before fire, so let the demons perish before those who love God, make the sign of the cross, and joyfully say: Rejoice, most honored and life-giving Cross of the Lord, driving away demons by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was crucified on you, descended into hell, crushed the devil's power, and gave us you, his honored Cross, to drive away every adversary.1 O most honored and life-giving Cross of the Lord! Help me forever, together with the holy Lady, the Virgin Mother of God, and with all the saints. Amen.

Да воскре́снет Бог, и расточа́тся врази́ Его́, и да бежа́т от лица́ Его́ ненави́дящии Его́. Я́ко исчеза́ет дым, да исче́знут; я́ко та́ет воск от лица огня́, та́ко да поги́бнут бе́си от лица́ лю́бящих Бо́га и зна́менующихся кре́стным зна́мением, и в весе́лии глаго́лющих: ра́дуйся, Пречестны́й и Животворя́щий Кре́сте Госпо́день, прогоня́яй бе́сы си́лою на тебе́ пропя́таго Го́спода на́шего Иису́са Христа́, во ад сше́дшаго и попра́вшего си́лу диа́волю, и дарова́вшаго нам тебе́ Крест Свой Честны́й на прогна́ние вся́каго супоста́та.
