In the womb of the Virgin Mary, your throne, God, has been prepared from all eternity. Alleluia. Let all the earth rejoice in God, and let the heavenly hierarchy serve Him. Alleluia. The Lord has shown His power with His strong arm; He has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts. Alleluia. He has brought down the powerful from their thrones and lifted up the lowly. Alleluia. He has filled the hungry with good things, but the rich he has sent away empty. Alleluia. Behold, a wondrous miracle has been conceived, for a virgin has given birth to Jesus Christ, the most holy Mary. An aged woman carries the burdens of her offspring, as she swells with the cold and great pains of childbirth. Here, every rule of nature and its workings fails; here, every reason yields to the miracle of God. The mother of the Lord greets the mother of the wondrous prophet, and the prophet greets the Lord with praise. Let us also praise the Lord, the Father, and the holy Son of the Father, and the Paraclete now and forever. Amen. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people, just as he spoke through the mouths of his holy ones. Alleluia.
