VIII. Verba Joannis.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.^✦ His sense is such. God will take away all the scales of sin that produce tears from the knowledge of the saints, and He will make them pure as the first man was created, establishing them in eternity. Death will not come in that way at the end of time, just as childhood ends with youth, youth ends with old age, and old age ends with death. But the blessed will no longer dwell in a sorrowful exile, nor will they expect another life, because they will always have that life in which there is no weariness; nor will they be in ignorance of the clamor, since they will not seek hidden testimonies, for they will always see the glory of God manifestly. Pain, the taste of sin, the desire to possess, and the fear of losing what one has will no longer harm people, nor will they be disturbed by any temporal damnation; instead, they will always be secure from all evils, which first departed when they were in this temporal world and in its temporary sufferings. But whoever has a desire for life should receive these words and store them in the inner chamber of their heart.
