XXXV. Quale$ animae sunt in coelesti regno.
There are, as you see, those who are recognized for serving the burden of this present life in a humble manner, embracing the heavenly things with their spirit; they separate themselves from the world, adhering to a regular discipline and finding relief in contemplation, and they have clung to the heavenly with both body and spirit. They have provided both material and spiritual support to those under their care, leading them kindly and humbly by teaching and example; and they, rejecting idols and confessing their Creator, did not hesitate to let their bodies be weakened and handed over to death in steadfastness of truth. Likewise, those who renounced having flesh and blood, and denied being human, have preserved the virginity they vowed to God in fear and love for Him, keeping it honorably.

Ibi enim sunt, ut vides, qui saeculo in onere actualis vitae camaliter servire conspecti, ea quae coelestia erant spiritu amplectebantur, et qui se a saeculo separantes, in subjectione regularis disciplinae, et in contemplationis alleviatione, corpore et spiritu coelestibus inhaeserant, ac qui subditis suis et corporalia et spiritalia subministrantes, doctrina et exemplo eis benigne ac humiliter praefuerant; et qui idola spernentes, et Greatorem suum confitentes, in constantia veritatis corpora sua debilitari ac morti tradi non dubitaverant; hi quoque qui se camem et sanguinem habere, et se homines esse abnegantes, virginitatem 8uam, quam Deo voverant, in timore et in amore ipsius honeste conservaverant.
