XVI. Abyssus omnia terrena tenet
But the abyss is like the power of the same man's potential, because it bears all his institutions, and those same institutions depend on it, since it has, like a likeness to God's power; for just as God's potential holds all his work in all his offices, so that nothing escapes his power, the abyss also sustains all that is above the earth, all that is on the earth, and all that is beneath the earth, because all these things are placed above it by divine ordination.

Sed et abyssus quasi virtus possibiiitatis ejusdem viri est, quia omnes institutiones ejus fert, et quia eaedem institutiones ipsi innituntur, quoniam illa velut similitudinem posse Dei habet; quia ut possibilitas Dei omne opus ipsius in cunctis offlciis suis tenet, ita quod de potestate ejus non exeunt, sic etiam et abyssus ea quae super terram et quae in terra et quae sub terra sunt, sustinet, quoniam haec omnia divina ordinatione super illam posita sunt.
