XIIII. QurOd amnes komines sub protectione Dei sunt.
For you see that the aforementioned man looks over the whole world, because the Almighty God defends the world and all who dwell in it by the command of His protection; for they have received their being from Him, even if they worship Him in different ways, calling upon Him and honoring Him while serving His commandments. But those who refuse to serve him are still under his protection, because they were created by him, and even if they don't want to, they serve him in many ways. Therefore, the waters of the abyss, in which the same man stands from above to below, are like the strength of that man's virtue, since the waters of the lower depths, which God holds in His might and in hidden places, like under His plants, so that they stand above that depth, show the power of the Divinity, because all things are governed and protected by God; likewise, the waters unite and support all earthly things. For when people turn to infidelity, They bring forth all things through the washing of baptism into a new life; they restore everything; and when they remove the impurities of both body and soul, they purify everything. And with their sprinkling, they wipe away the dangers of both visible and invisible incursions, sanctifying all things; and with their pouring, they solidify everything that needs to be sustained, so that nothing may wither; they contain all things; and with their gathering, they bear the whole world, carrying everything. All creatures are nourished by the sweat of their own moisture, for each one lives according to the life God has given it: those that are vital live like humans; those that are airy, like cattle; those that have greenery, like shrubs; those that produce sweat, like herbs, because all these things are sustained by divine arrangement, and the moisture that seeps from the earth and air maintains their essence, and each one produces according to what has been established by God.
