And from the light of the truth, I heard a voice saying to me again: "These things that you see are true, and as you see them, so they are, and there are more things besides." Therefore, those who are persuaded by the spirit of fornication, if they wish to overcome it, should choose to distance themselves from its penalties, and they should discipline themselves with fasting and scourging, and impose upon their flesh pure prayers, so that their spirit may be brought into submission by this good desire.
