LXXX. De poenitentia immoderatorum
And again I heard a voice speaking to me from the living light, saying: "What you see is true." But if people, having immoderation in all they do, desire to escape the penalties of the same vice through the malign spirits that persistently attack them, they should impose the yoke of obedience on themselves and abstain from rich foods. Immoderation has no place in heaven or on earth, for every path is uncertain. Immoderation has no full dwelling place, neither in heaven nor on earth, because every path is uncertain for it. For he desires to be everywhere in excess, and he says: 'I would be captured if I did not scrutinize everything.' But he neither desires peace nor wants it, and for this reason, like a wheel that is struck, he keeps turning; and just as dust is scattered by the terror of the wind, so too does he dissipate. Because he accumulates excess for himself. Therefore, woe to those who dwell on the earth, which God established over the waters; and woe to those who travel on the sea, where God surrounded the land, because the Devil sends many immoderate temptations upon people, so that he may lead them into the confusion of the same fall through which he himself fell. The devil is indeed an enemy to humanity, because man was created by God to resist him and to possess the heavenly kingdom. These things have been said about the souls of the penitent being purified; let the faithful pay attention to them and keep them in mind for good understanding. I also saw others from that crowd, who were shouting loudly: "Who is God?" They say, "We are nothing!" These people hold God in contempt, as if He does not exist, and they persuade others not to trust in God, but to hope in Him in every way, so that they may lead them to destruction. About the punishments of those who do not trust in God. I saw a pit of destruction prepared for this, along with the Devil. Those who do not trust in God, so that they may escape the punishments of hell, are deserving of them. But through the living Spirit, I saw and understood these things, and I heard again a voice from the living light saying to me: "What you see is true, and as you see it, so it is."

Et iterum de praefata vivente luce audivi vocem mihi dicentem: Haec quae vides, vera sunt.
Sed homines in omnibus quae faciunt, immoderationem habentes, si malignos spiritus per idem vitium eis insistentes et poenas ejus effugere desideraverint, jugum obedientiae sibi imponant, et a pinguibus cibis se abstineant.
LXXXL De immoderatione.
Immoderalio enim nec in coelo, nec in terra, plenam habitationem habet, quoniam quaelibet via sibi incerta est.
Nam in nimietate ubique esse vult, et dicit: € Capta essem, si unaquaeque non perscrutarer.» Sed et quietem neque desiderat, neque vult, et ob hoc etiam ut rota quae percutitur, circumvolvitur; et sicut pulvis qui per terrorem venti spargitur, sic et ipsa dissipatur,. quia niniietatem sibi accumuiat.
Quapropter et vae est habitantibus in terra, quam Deus super aquas firmavit; et vae est pergentibus in mari, quo Deus terram circumcinxit, quia Diabolus in his multas immoderationes hominibus immittit, ^ quatenus eos in confusionem ejusdem casus ducat, per quem ipse cecidit.
Ipse namque homini inimicatur, quoniam ut ei resistat, et ut coeiestia possideat, a Deo homo factus est.
Haec autem de poenitentium animabus purgandis dicta sunt; et fidelia aunt, et fideiis his attendat, et ea in memoriam bonae scientiae componat.
Alios quoque praedictae multitudinis vidi, qui magnis clamoribus ciamabant vociferantes: c Quis est Deus? £t qui sumus nos?» Isti Deum, quasi Deus non sit» pro contemptu habent, et hominibus ne in Deum confidant, sed ut eum omnibus modis spernantj persuadent, quatenus eos secum in perditionem ducant.
LXXXIL De poenis eorum qui in Deum non confidunt.
Huic autem perditioni puteum inferni cum Diabolo praeparatum vidi.
Qui enim in Deum non confidunt, ut poenas infemales habeant, digni sunt. £t per viventem Spiritum vidi et inteliexi haec, et de praedicta vivente luce vocem iterum mihi dicentem audivi: Haec quae vides, vera sunt, et ut ea vides, ita sunt.
