And I heard again a voice speaking to me from the living light, saying: "What you see is true, and as you see it, so it is, and there is more to it." But people who indulge in foolish joy, if they try to overcome the evil spirits urging them toward that same joy and escape their punishments, should bind their bodies with whips and fasts, according to the measure of their sin and the measure they feel from the judgment of their presiding judge. Foolish joy doesn't love the truth, and everything that pleases it leads to ruin. For he says that his corrupt will is not harmful, and in his actions he does not know God, and he sharpens his tongue against God.

Et de praefata vivente luce vocem iterum mihi dicentem audivi: Haec quac vides, vera sunt, et ut ea vides, ita sunt, et plura sunt.
Sed homines, qui in inepta laetitia delinquunt, si malignos spiritus, eos ad eamdem laetitiam exhortantes, superare, et supplicia ejus effugere contendunt, flagellis ac jejuniis camem suam constringant, secundum quod modum peccati et modum sibi praesidentis judicis in se senserint.
Inepta enim laetitia veritatem non amat, et omne quod eam delectat, perficit.
Nam pravam voluntatem suam nocivam non esse dicit, et in operibus suis Deum nescit, ac linguam suam contra Deum acuit.
