Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Who among all creatures can count the works of God?" And how many are those who dwell in the land of God? And who are they, and what are they like, and how many are there, those who speak within themselves and affirm the darkness of schisms? Indeed, they seek their God in the North, and they worship Him there, and each just thing instituted by God, according to their perverse wills, they dispute and rewrite, and they tear apart these things in their hearts, saying: "This life is good, but that one is evil." And so they hold their knowledge as if it were for God, yet they don’t know what they’re doing; for the works of God, which operate in humanity, remain in infinite life, as the words of Ezekiel also show, where he speaks of the four living creatures. *

Et quot sunt hi qui in terra Dei ^ habitant?
Et qui sunt, et quales sunt, et quot sunt, hi qui intra se loquuntur, et affirmant nigre* dinem schismatum? ita quod deum suum in Aquilone quaerunt, et quod eum ibi colunt, et quod una quaeque justa a Deo instituta, secundum voluntates suas perverse discutiunt et exscribrant, et ea in cordibus suis discerpunt, dicentes: Ista vita bona est, illa vero mala est.
