We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your holy Cross you have redeemed the world.✦ Consider how Jesus Christ, after being scourged and crowned with thorns, was unjustly condemned by Pilate to die by crucifixion.✦ My adored Jesus, it wasn't Pilate, but my sins that condemned you to death. By the merit of this sorrowful journey, I beg you to help me on the journey my soul is making toward eternity.
A Prayer of Love and Surrender
The believer offers an act of contrition and a commitment to remain united with Christ in love.
I love you, my Jesus, more than myself; I repent with all my heart for having offended you. Forgive me, and don't let me separate myself from you. Grant that I may always love you, and then do with me as you please.

Ti adoriamo, o Cristo, e ti benediciamo, perché con la tua santa Croce hai redento il mondo.
Considera come Gesù Cristo dopo essere stato flagellato e coronato di spine fu ingiustamente condannato da Pilato a morire crocifisso. – Adorato mio Gesù, non fu Pilato, ma furono i miei peccati che ti condannarono a morte. Per il merito di questo doloroso viaggio ti prego di assistermi nel viaggio che l’anima mia sta facendo verso l’eternità.
Io ti amo, Gesù mio, più di me stesso, mi pento con tutto il cuore di averti offeso. Perdonami e non permettere che mi separi da te. Fa’ che sempre ti ami e poi disponi di me come ti piace.

Crucify him!" Pilate said to them, "Shall I crucify your king?" The chief priests answered, "We have no king but Caesar." John.19.16 — So then they took him away to be crucified. So they took Jesus.
