Relief and Trust in Hildegard's Gift
Hazecha describes finding comfort in Hildegard's presence and affirms that her words come from the true light.
Since we are joined to Christ by that same love with which you are joined to him. After I was granted the presence I had long desired, and your warmth, with God's help, I found relief. I rested a while from my faint-heartedness and from the storm I had been through. And because your words do not come from human cleverness, but come from the true light that has shone on you more than on other people—of that I have no doubt. By your counsel I had intended to do what I proposed. But I have put it off until now, and have yet to carry it through. I want to know you, my lady and dearest sister.
Persistent Love and Heartfelt Longing
Hazecha expresses undiminished longing, constant love in spirit, and a plea grounded in charity.
Because I've wanted so much to see you, just as I did before. I still want to no less. And even though I can't do so in person, in heart I'm always clinging to you. And because there is certain love in you, and for you to remain in love— through this love I beg you: why has the living light revealed through its Spirit, for my rebuke or correction, something worthy concerning me to you?

cum ea qua in christo coniunctę sumus caritate. Postquam diu desiderata presentia et affabilitate uestra deo opitulante merui releuari. a pusillanimitate spiritus et tempestate priori aliquantisper quieui! et quia uerba uestra non ab humano ingenio. sed a luce uera quę plus ceteris hominibus uos illuminauit non dubito procedere! consilio uestro quod proposui facere. distuli adhuc perficere. Scire uos uolo domina et soror carissima.
