The Earthquake at the Castle

In 1226 a localized earthquake terrifies the castle's inhabitants, who fear the buildings will collapse.

In the year of our Lord 1326, there was an earthquake in the aforesaid castle—and nowhere else—and the earth shook so horribly that the tall buildings threatened to collapse, so that those who had been inside them now wanted to jump to the ground in order to escape death.

Anno domini mcccxxvui fuit terre raotus in dicto Castro, et non alibi, et quaciebatur terra tamc horribiliter, quod edificia alta minabantur ruinara, ita quod bii, qui in edificiis fuerant, volebant jam saltare ad terram*1, ut evaderentmortem.
