Charles Crowned, Manfred Deprived
Pope Clement crowns Charles king of Sicily in 1265, and Charles deprives Manfred, Frederick's illegitimate son, of both life and kingdom.
Of Frederick the emperor. In the year of our Lord 1265, Pope Clement crowned the aforementioned Charles with a crown into the kingdom of Sicily, which Pope Urban had granted to him. This Charles deprived Manfred, the natural (illegitimate) son of Frederick the emperor, of his life and of the kingdom.
