The Brothers' Zeal and the Ravaging of Dramenow
The brothers, driven by fervent missionary zeal, attack the Sambians, ravage the village of Dramenow, and after being pursued, rally through the heroism of Brother Henry of Ulenbusch to slay a great multitude of their enemies.
No one could fully set down in writing—and even if they did, it would scarcely be believed—how anxious the brothers were in their attack on the Sambians, so as to bring them once more under the Christian faith. And so, when those who lived in the territories of Waldow, Quedenow, and Wargen, and in other neighboring places, had been weakened and put to flight, the brothers advanced with an army against the territory of Pubeten. After ravaging a certain village called Dramenow, capturing and killing many people, they were withdrawing with great spoil when the enemies pursued and attacked them, turning them as if to flight. But Brother Henry of Ulenbusch, a thoroughly spirited man, resisted them and opposed himself so manfully that the others, having recovered their strength and boldness, returned to battle and killed a great multitude of the aforementioned Sambians.
