De prenosticacione hujus victorie.

A Prussian's Prophecy Fulfilled

A Prussian seer foretells the slaughter of the Sambians on the feast of St. Vincent, is mocked when the pilgrims withdraw, but stands firm invoking the fate of Dathan and Abiron — and the prophecy is fulfilled.

A certain Prussian foretold this slaughter of the Sambians, and he kept insisting it would actually happen — so much so that he dared to say, on pain of his own life, he did not know by what spirit, to the brothers at Königsberg: on the feast day of blessed Vincent the Sambians will be cut down. But when the army of the pilgrims withdrew on the same day, he was taunted for his lie. He, still standing firm in his first claim, said: 'Today the Sambians will yet be cut down, or the earth will open its mouth and swallow them alive like Dathan and Abiron — and just as he had said, so it happened.'
