Chapter 80ChrP.4.80

De desolacione castri Peseta.

The Burning of Castle Besela

Upon hearing that Prussian forces besieged Königsberg, Kreuzburg, and Bartenstein, the brothers at Castle Besela, gripped by fear, deliberated at length before setting their own castle ablaze and retreating through hidden paths into the wilderness.

When the brothers at Castle Besela heard that the Prussians had laid siege to the castles of Königsberg, Kreuzburg, and Bartenstein, they were greatly afraid. After much deliberation and many discussions of various kinds, they set the castle ablaze and withdrew through hidden paths into the wilderness.
