De edificacione castri Lunenburgk, et duarum civitatum.
Founding of Lunenburgk and Two Cities
Brother Theodoric of Aldenburgk builds the castle of Lunenburgk near the confluence of the Gobrio and Says rivers, and two commanders establish cities around the castles of Bartenstein and Ylienburgk.
At this time, Brother Theodoric of Aldenburgk, commander of Balga, having sought and obtained permission from the grand master, built the castle of Lunenburgk in the land of Barthensi near the confluence of two rivers — namely, the Gobrio and the Says — drawing its name from the name of the field on which it stands.12 Likewise, the same commander established a city around the castle of Bartenstein, and Brother Luther, son of the illustrious Duke of Brunswick, commander of Cristburgk, established a city around the castle of Ylienburgk.3
