De impugnacione castri Cristmemele.
The Surprise Assault on Christmemel
The Lithuanians launch a secret July assault on the castle of Christmemel.
Around this same time, in the month of July, the Lithuanians came secretly and tried to storm the castle of Christmemel.
The Brothers' Vigilant Defense
Forewarned by a fisherman, the Teutonic brothers repel the attackers at daybreak, wounding many and killing a nobleman whose body they defend with javelins.
But the brothers, having been warned by a certain fisherman, were armed and ready; as they advanced to meet the fight at daybreak, they wounded many with blows and arrows, and killed a certain nobleman. When the Lithuanians tried to carry him off, the brothers defended the body with a hail of javelins.
The Fierce Struggle Over the Fallen
Enraged, the Lithuanians seize the nobleman's body by arms, feet, and head, carrying it off by force despite suffering heavy casualties.
At last, provoked to anger, they all gathered together — some seizing the dead man by the arms, others by the feet, and the rest by the head — and carried him off by force. But before they could finish this, so many of them were wounded that I did not learn their number.

Hujus tempore eodem mense Julii cccc Lethowini, occulte venientes, volebanl castrum Cristmemelam expugnare.
