De combustione suburbii castri Gedemini et ceteris.
The Marshal Divides His Army
The marshal leads a summer campaign near Pograudam and divides his forces into three squadrons, but the first squadron goes astray and accomplishes nothing.
That same year in summer, around the feast of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist — idena juni — the marshal with brothers and men from Sambia, when he had come near the territory of Pograudam, divided his army into three squadrons, so that Brother Hartmann and Brother Fridericus Quitz with sixty men were supposed to attack certain villages of this territory, but they went astray on the road and accomplished nothing.
The Assault on Gedemini Castle
The second squadron attempts a secret storming of Gedemini castle but fails to take it, though the suburb is completely burned.
The second part of the army — namely Brother Fridericus of Libencele, commander of Raganita, with 150 men — was supposed to secretly enter the castle of Gedemini and storm it, but by some chance the garrison soldiers, having fortified the castle, defended it, though the suburb was completely burned down by the brothers.
The Third Squadron's Devastation
The third squadron under Brother Albertus burns the estate of the noble Sudargi, destroys surrounding villages, kills many men, and captures women, children, and household members.
The third part — namely Brother Albertus of Indagine and sixty men — entered. They reduced to ashes the dwelling of a certain noble and powerful man called Sudargi, along with the surrounding villages, and they captured his wife and children and household, along with many other women and children, after killing many men.
The Fourth Squadron's Failure and the Army's Return
The fourth squadron wanders aimlessly and achieves nothing, after which the entire army reassembles and returns home.
The fourth part of the army was under the banner of the brothers, whose leaders, while they wandered on the road, also accomplished nothing. At last the whole army, having been reassembled, returned home.
