The Resignation and Succession of the Master General
Brother Godefridus resigns his office as master general at Elbing, and Brother Syfridus is elected in his place.
by the election of Brother Syfridus of Wucgwangen. In the year of the Lord 1302, Brother Godefridus, master general, passed through Prussia with fifty brothers and came to the land of Livonia. He left the brothers there to support the said land and resigned his office at the chapter of Elbing, intending to return to Prussia the following year. Yet when he had returned to Germany, he once again rashly usurped the office. Once this resignation had been made, Brother Syfridus of Wucgwangen was immediately elected there as master general, and he traveled toward Venice to the principal house.

Anno domini mcccii frater Godefridus magister generalis cum l fratribus transiens Prussiam, venit ad terram Lyvonie, et relictis ibi fratribus in subsidium dicte terre, dum anno sequenti rediret Prussiam, in capitulo Elbingensi suum officium resignavit, licet sibi, dum in Theutoniam reversus esset, denuo temerarie usurparet. Quaa resignacione facta, electus fuitb statim ibidem frater Syfridus de Wucgwangen in magistrum generalem, qui ivit versus Venecias ad domumc principalem.
