De suburbiorum combustione castrorum Junigede et Piste.
The Burning of Junigeda and Pista
Brother Cuno of Brandenburg destroys the suburbs of Junigeda and Pista by fire, and a chance encounter with Lithuanian forces leads to a fierce skirmish in which one brave Lithuanian is killed and many on both sides are wounded.
At the time when the brothers' army from Prussia was still in the regions of Livonia, Brother Cuno, commander of Brandenburg, attacked the camps of Junigeda and Pista with a great force and completely destroyed their suburbs by fire. And as he was withdrawing, a certain brother from Raganita came upon him by ship, together with certain armed men. Going out to fight against the camp-followers, he forced the whole army of the brothers to return to battle. Once the fighting had begun, one Lithuanian — a brave man — was killed, and many on both sides were severely wounded.12

Notes
- 1 ↩The token 'initoquef' (token 55) is a corrupted or abbreviated form in the source, likely representing 'initoque' ('and having begun'). The translation renders the intended sense: 'once the fighting had begun.'
- 2 ↩The compound token 'etPistam' has been separated into 'and Pista' as a place name. 'Armigesis' (tokens 40–41) is rendered as 'armed men' based on contextual plausibility; the form is uncertain.
