The Fountain of All Grace
Christ is the source from which all spiritual gifts and graces flow to the believer.
40. M: Does any of that benefit you? E: It all benefits us. For Jesus Christ received every gift so that he might make us share in them, so that we might all receive from his fullness (John 1:16). Christ is the fountain of every good. 41. M: Explain that to me more fully. S: He has received the Holy Spirit with all his graces in perfection, so that he may freely bestow and distribute them to us, to each according to the measure and portion that God knows to be expedient (Ephesians 4:7).✦1 And so we draw from him, as from a fountain, every spiritual good we have.✦
The Kingdom of Christ
Christ's Kingdom grants believers spiritual freedom and the power to overcome the enemies of the soul.
What good is Christ's Kingdom to us? M: What good is his Kingdom to us? E: It means that, having been set free in conscience by him and filled with his spiritual riches so that we may live in righteousness and holiness, we also have the power to overcome the devil, sin, and the world, which are the enemies of our souls.
The Priesthood of Christ
Through Christ's priestly mediation, believers are reconciled to God and empowered to offer themselves as living sacrifices.
Christ's Priesthood 43. M: And his Priesthood? E: First, in that he is our Mediator, to reconcile us to God his Father; and then, through him, we also have access to present ourselves to God and offer ourselves in sacrifice, with everything that comes from us. In this, we are partners in his Priesthood (Hebrews 7, 8, 9, 10, 13).
The Prophetic Office
As the master and teacher, Christ brings his people into the true knowledge of God the Father.
The Prophecy of Christ 44. M: That leaves the Prophecy. E: Since this office was given to the Lord Jesus so that he would be master and teacher of his own people, its purpose is to bring us into the true knowledge of the Father and of his truth, so that we become household pupils of God.✦2
The Fullness of the Name Christ
The title 'Christ' encompasses the threefold office through which he shares his power and fruit with his people.
45. M: So you conclude that the title Christ includes three offices that God has given his Son, so he can share their fruit and power with his faithful people.3 E: Indeed.

40. M : Te revient-il quelque profit de cela? E : Le tout est à notre utilité. Car Jésus-Christ a reçu tous les dons pour nous en faire participants, afin que nous recevions tous de sa plénitude (Jean 1:16). Christ fontaine de tout bien
41. M : Déclare-moi cela plus au long. E : Il a reçu le Saint-Esprit avec toutes ses grâces en perfection, pour nous en élargir et distribuer à chacun selon la mesure et portion que Dieu connaît être expédiente (Éphésiens 4:7). Et ainsi nous puisons de lui, comme d'une fontaine, tout ce que nous avons de biens spirituels.
De quoi nous sert le Royaume de Christ 42. M : Son Royaume, de quoi nous sert-il? E : C'est qu'étant par lui mis en liberté de consciences et remplis de ses richesses spirituelles pour vivre en justice et sainteté, nous avons aussi la puissance pour vaincre le diable, le péché et le monde, qui sont les ennemis de nos âmes.
Prêtrise de Christ 43. M : Et sa Prêtrise? E : Premièrement, en tant qu'il est notre Médiateur, pour nous réconcilier à Dieu son Père; puis après que, par son moyen, nous avons accès pour nous présenter aussi à Dieu et nous offrir en sacrifice avec tout ce qui procède de nous. Et en cela nous sommes compagnons de sa Prêtrise (Hébreux 7, 8, 9, 10, 13).
Prophétie de Christ 44. M : Il reste la Prophétie. E : Puisque cet office a été donné au Seigneur Jésus pour être maître et docteur des siens, la fin est de nous introduire à la vraie connaissance du Père et de sa vérité, tellement que nous soyons écoliers domestiques de Dieu.
45. M : Tu veux donc conclure que ce titre de Christ comprend trois offices que Dieu a donnés à son Fils pour en communiquer le fruit et la vertu à ses fidèles. E : Voire.
