The Light of the Soul
The soul finds its foundation and light in the Lord.
You are the firm foundation of those who run to You, O Lord; You are the light of those in darkness, and my spirit sings Your praise.
A Plea for Protection
The believer entrusts their soul to their guardian angel to escape the enemy's snares.
I have entrusted all my thoughts and my soul to you, my guardian; deliver me from every assault of the enemy.✦ The enemy tramples me, afflicts me, and is always teaching me to do his own desires; but you, my guide, do not abandon me as I perish.
Doxology and Deliverance
A prayer of thanksgiving to the Creator and the guardian angel for rescue from enemies.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Grant me to sing a song with thanksgiving and zeal to the Creator and God, and to you, my good guardian angel: my deliverer, rescue me from the enemies who afflict me.1
Theotokion of Healing
A final prayer to the Most Pure Mother of God for the healing of the soul and victory over spiritual foes.
Now and always, and to the ages of ages. Amen. Heal, Most Pure One, the many diseased sores in my soul, and drive away the enemies who are always fighting against me.23

Ты́ еси́ утвержде́ние притека́ющих к Тебе́, Го́споди, Ты́ еси́ све́т омраче́нных, и пое́т Тя́ ду́х мо́й.
Все́ помышле́ние мое́ и ду́шу мою́ к тебе́ возложи́х, храни́телю мо́й; ты́ от вся́кия мя́ напа́сти вра́жия изба́ви.
Вра́г попира́ет мя́, и озлобля́ет, и поуча́ет всегда́ твори́ти своя́ хоте́ния; но ты́, наста́вниче мо́й, не оста́ви мене́ погиба́юща.

- 1 ↩Пе́ти пе́снь could be rendered 'to sing a hymn/song'; усе́рдием is zeal/earnest diligence rather than mere emotion. озлобля́ющих carries the sense of hostile affliction/oppression (cf. neighboring CanAng.1.3.3 озлобля́ет).
- 2 ↩Пречи́стая is the Marian title 'Most Pure One' (Theotokos address in the Theotokion after 'Both now…'); kept as a title, not flattened to a generic 'pure one'.
- 3 ↩многонеду́жныя стру́пы: literally 'much-diseased sores/ulcers'; rendered as 'many diseased sores' to keep the bodily-ulcer image applied to the soul.
