Confession of Unworthiness
The petitioner confesses their habitual sins and spiritual degradation before their Guardian Angel.
Holy Angel of Christ, I fall before you and pray, my holy guardian, given to me at my Baptism to watch over my sinful soul and body. Yet, through my own laziness and evil habits, I have angered your pure radiance and driven you away with my shameful deeds: with lies, slander, envy, judging others, contempt, disobedience, hatred of my brothers and sisters, and holding grudges; with love of money, adultery, rage, stinginess, gluttony without end, drunkenness, excessive talk, evil and crafty thoughts, a proud way of life, and lustful frenzy, following my own will in every fleshly desire. O my evil free will—even the unreasoning beasts do not act this way!1 How then can you look at me, or come near me, as at a stinking dog? With what eyes, Angel of Christ, will you look at me, tangled so wickedly in filthy deeds? And how can I still ask for forgiveness for my bitter, evil, and crafty acts, into which I fall day and night and at every hour?
Plea for Mercy and Protection
The prayer shifts from confession to a direct petition for the Angel's intercession and salvation.
But I fall down and pray to you, my holy guardian: have mercy on me, your sinful and unworthy servant (Name). Be my helper and defender against my evil adversary through your holy prayers, and make me a partaker of the Kingdom of God with all the saints, always, now and ever, and to the ages of ages.2 Amen.

А́нгеле Христо́в святы́й, к тебе́ припа́дая молю́ся, храни́телю мо́й святы́й, прида́нный мне́ на соблюде́ние души́ и те́лу моему́ гре́шному от свята́го креще́ния, а́з же свое́ю ле́ностию и свои́м злы́м обы́чаем прогне́вах твою́ пречи́стую све́тлость и отгна́х тя́ от себе́ все́ми сту́дными де́лы: лжа́ми, клевета́ми, за́вистию, осужде́нием, презо́рством, непоко́рством, братоненавиде́нием, и злопомне́нием, сребролю́бием, прелюбодея́нием, я́ростию, ску́постию, объяде́нием без сы́тости и опи́вством, многоглаго́ланием, злы́ми по́мыслы и лука́выми, го́рдым обы́чаем и блу́дным возбеше́нием, имы́й самохоте́ние на вся́кое плотско́е вожделе́ние.
