Para con el prójimo
Love and Compassion for the Neighbor
The penitent examines their failure to love, assist, and pray for their neighbor as commanded by God.
He should accuse himself of not having loved his neighbors with the same love with which he would want to be loved, as God commands. Of not having come to their aid in their needs with the help and relief he should have given and could have given. Of not having had as much compassion for their miseries, and not having pleaded with God for them as much, as he was bound to.
Intercession for the Church
The penitent reflects on their lack of concern and prayer regarding the public struggles of the Church.
Of the public calamities of the Church (such as wars, heresies, and the like)1 of not having felt about them as he ought, nor having entrusted them to God as much as he could and should have.2
Duties of Authority and Obedience
The penitent considers their failures in fulfilling the specific responsibilities of their social and domestic roles.
Those who have superiors should accuse themselves of not having obeyed and revered them as they should have. And those who have subjects, children, and servants, of not having taught them, disciplined them, provided them with what they needed, and given them the care that was right.3

Notes
- 1 ↩This printed unit is a topic lead-in; the finite accusation continues in s5.
- 2 ↩sentimiento: rendered as fitting concern/feeling rather than mere emotion; encomendádolas keeps the sense of commending the calamities to God in prayer.
- 3 ↩castigado rendered as disciplined (formative correction due from authority), not mere harsh punishment; criados as household servants.
